நாட்டுவைத்தியமும் சினிமாத் தொழில்நுட்பமும்!

சினிமா அசைகிற படமாக இருப்பதால்தான் அது கவர்ச்சிக்குரியதாகவும் மாய நிலை கொண்டதாகவும் வெகுகாலம் விளங்கியது. சினிமா பெரிதும் விரும்பப்பட்டதற்கும் முக்கியக் காரணம் அது ஏதோ மந்திரவிதிகளுக்குக் கட்டுப்பட்டதுபோல் தோன்றியதுதான். சினிமாவை மக்கள் நெருங்கிவிடக் கூடாது என்பதில் சினிமா உலகினரின் சதியும் கலந்திருந்தது. ஸ்டுடியோ படப்பிடிப்பை மக்கள் பார்க்கக் கூடாது என்பதிலிருந்து அது தொடங்கி படத்தில் நடிப்பவர்கள்கூட கேமரா வழியாகப் பார்க்க அனுமதி கிடையாது என்பதுவரை அது தொடர்ந்தது. ஒளிப் பதிவாளர்கள்கூடத் தங்கள் உதவியாளர்களுக்குத் தாங்கள் அறிந்தவற்றையெல்லாம் சொல்லித்தந்து விடாது மூடுமந்திரமாகச் சிலவற்றை வைத்திருப்பார்கள். இதை அந்நாளைய ஒளிப்பதிவாளர்களிடம் பணியாற்றிய உதவியாளர்கள் சிலர் சொல்லக் கேட்டிருக்கிறேன். நாட்டு வைத்தியர்கள் சில வைத்தியமுறைகளைத் தங்களது சீடர்களுக்குக்கூடக் கற்றுத்தர மாட்டார்கள் என்று சொல்வதைப்போலத் தான் இதுவும்.

அறிவைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வதால் ஆர்வமும் வளர்ச்சியும் கூடுமே தவிர குறையாது. விஞ்ஞான வளர்ச்சி கபடங்களுக்கு இடம் தருவதில்லை. இப்பொழுது டிஜிடல் உபகரணங்களுடன் அவற்றை எப்படிப் பயன்படுத்துவது என்பதற்கான கையேடுகள், வீடியோ விளக்கங்கள் ஆகியன தரப்படுகின்றன. யார் வேண்டுமானாலும் கேமராவை இயக்கலாம். அதே நேரம் ஒளிப்பதிவு பற்றிய கூடுதலான அறிவையும் பெற வேண்டும். இதற்கும் இலக்கணப் புத்தகங்கள் உண்டு. ஆனால் இன்னமும் ஒளிப்பதிவு பற்றிய அறிவைத் தமிழில் விளக்கும் ஆரம்ப நூலொன்று வரவில்லை என்னும் குறையை நீக்கும் வண்ணம் ‘அசையும் படம்’ என்னும் நூல் வெளிவந்துள்ளது. இதை எழுதியுள்ள சி.ஜெ.ராஜ்குமார் முறையாக ஒளிப்பதிவைப் படித்தவர். பல விருதுபெற்ற குறும்படங்களையும், முழு நீளப்படங்களையும் ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்தவர். அவை மட்டுமல்ல. ஆரம்ப நிலை ஆர்வலர்களுக்கு ஒளிப்பதிவின் நுட்பங்கள் புரியுமாறு பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் எடுப்பதில் திறமை வய்ந்தவர். அந்த வகுப்புகளில் சொல்லித் தந்தவற்றை முதலில் தமிழ் ஸ்டுடியோ.காம் என்கிற இணைய இதழில் எழுதினார். அதன் செம்மை வடிவமே இந்நூல்.

ஒளிப்பதிவு பற்றிய ஒரு சரித்திர கண்ணோட்டத்துடன் இந்நூலை எழுதியுள்ளார். கேமரா அப்ஸ்குராவிலிருந்து ஒளிப்பதிவின் கதையைத் தொடங்குகிறார். பின்னர் பிலிமின் வருகை, பிலிம் கேமரா, லென்ஸ், பில்டர்களின் உபயோகம், லேப், ஒளி விளக்குகள், ஒளியமைப்பு முறைகள், டிஜிடல் சினிமா என்று சகல நுணுக்கங்களையும் பூடகம் தவிர்த்த நடையில் எழுதியுள்ளார். நிறைய புகைப் படங்களும் விளக்கப்படங்களும் நூலின் பயனை அதிகரிக்கின்றன. ஓரளவு செய்முறை நூலான இதில் தமிழ்ப் பட உதாரணங்கள் கொடுத்திருந்தால் படிப்பவர்களுக்குத் தாங்கள் படித்ததை உடனே நேரடியாகப் பார்த்த படங்களுடன் பொருத்திப் பார்க்க உதவியாக இருந்திருக்கும். கலைச் சொற்கள் சுலபமாகப் புரிந்துகொள்வதற்கும் எடுத்தாள்வதற்கும் ஏற்றாற்போல் மொழி பெயர்க்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும். எல்லா ஆங்கில கலைச் சொற்களையும் தமிழில் மொழி பெயர்க்க வேண்டும் என்கிற கட்டாயமும் இல்லை. ஒரே அமர்வில் நூல் முழுவதையும் படித்துவிடலாம் என்பது இதன் சிறப்பு. படித்து முடித்துவிட்டுத் தூரப்போடுகிற நூல் இல்லை இது. திரும்பத் திரும்ப புரட்டப்பட வேண்டிய நூல். இதை ஒளிப்பதிவாளரின் கையேடு என்று ராஜ்குமார் கூறியிருப்பது மிகவும் பொருத்தமானது.

நேற்றிரவு படம் பார்த்த பிரமிப்பிலிருந்து இன்னும் மீள முடியவில்லை. இந்தப் படத்தில் பயன்படுத்தியிருக்கும் தொழில்நுட்பம் பிரத்தியேகமாக இப்படத்திற்காகவே உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஏறத்தாழ் நான்கு வருட உழைப்பில் உருவாகியிருக்கும் பிரமிப்பூட்டும் அனுபவம் இது.

அண்டவெளியில் விபத்துக்குள்ளான ஒரு விண்வெளிக் கப்பலில் இருக்கும் இரு விஞ்ஞானிகளின் உயிர்ப் போராட்டத்தை இயக்குநர் Alfonso Cuaron ஒளிப்பதிவளார் Emmanuel Lubezki இருவரும் இணைந்து நாம் இதுவரை கண்டிராத புத்தம் புதிய தொழிநுட்பத்தில் படமாக்கி, உலக சினிமா வல்லுநர்களை வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்தியுள்ளனர்!

GRAVITY திரைப்படத்தில் இடம்பெறும் விண்வெளிக்காட்சிகளைப் படமாக்க புதிய ஒளியமைப்பு முறையைக் (Lighting Design) கையாண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
கதாபாத்திரங்கள் அண்டவெளியில் மிதப்பது மற்றும் அவர்களது உடல் அசைவுகளை படமாக்க பூட் & டாலி என்ற 500 கிலோ எடை கொண்ட கம்ப்யூட்டரால் இயங்கும் அதிநவீன ரோபோட் இயந்திரத்தை வடிவமைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். இதில் காமிராவைப் பொருத்தி ஒரே நேரத்தில் அதிவேகத்துடன் 7 திசைகளுக்கு சுழற்ற முடியும். இதை பலமுறை ஒரே விதமாகவும் இயக்க முடியும்.

வழக்கமாக திரைப்படங்களில் பச்சை நிறப்பிண்னணியில் (Green Matte)படமாக்கி பின்னர் கம்ப்யூட்டர் யுக்தியுடன் background விண்வெளியில் நடப்பதுபோல் செய்வார்கள்.

இந்தப்படத்தில் 20 அடி உயரமும் 20 அடி அகலமும் கொண்ட  “வெளிச்ச அறை”  (Light Box) யை உருவாக்கி, அதன் நடுவே நடிகர்களை வைத்து படமாக்கியுள்ளார்கள். அந்த வெளிச்ச  அறையை LED லைட்களால் உருவாக்கியுள்ளார்கள். ஏறத்தாழ 4000க்கும் மேற்ப்பட்ட LED லைட்களில் 1,80,000 பல்புகள்! அதில் ஒவ்வொரு பல்பும் ஒரு பிக்சலாக கம்ப்யூட்டரால் கட்டுப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.

நடிகர்கள் வெளிச்ச அறையின் நடுவே சுற்ற...ராட்சஸ திரைகளில் படத்தில் இடம்பெறும் பேக்கிரவுண்ட் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு வெளிச்சமும் அதற்கேற்றவாறு அந்தப் பிண்னணியிலிருந்தே நடிகர்கள் மீது பாய்ச்சப்படுகிறது. நடிகர்கள் விண்வெளியில் மிதப்பது, சுழல்வது போன்ற உணர்வுகளை ஏற்படுத்த நடிகர்களுக்கு பதிலாக காமிரா சுழல்கிறது. அதேபோல வெளிச்ச மாறுதல்களும் அதற்கேற்ப புரோக்கிராம் செய்யப்படுகிறது.
இப்படத்தை “ஆரி அலெக்சா” காமிராவில் படமாக்கியுள்ளார்கள்!

Few years back ,I was firm believer ''film is the best medium to record images''.. then suddenly i realized changing scenario of ''Digital Cinematography'' especially with 5D mark II & Red..when many ask me even today about my switch over to Digital cinematography..my reply is it gives me freedom to try out new things & boon to indie filmaking.

Shot splendidly by Cinematographer Adam Arkepaw ..This brave, troubling film is the tale of innocence shattered.

winter in wartime- Dutch film review

WAR IN WINTER TIME-dutch film- is a very, very special movie around the themes war, love, trust, friendship from the point of view of a 14-year old Dutch teenager in the last winter of World War 2
Beautiful cold winter-setting with lots of snow and original landscapes; - fantastic music unbelievable beautiful with great photography and a incredible score. I recommend this movie highly to anyone, especially those who are interested in war stories..and this was high grossing film than ''Twilight & Dark night''...in Netherlands

Flowers of War- chinese film review

Zhang Yimou's ''FLOWERS OF WAR''- A war film combines visual wizardry of ''saving private ryan & ''Hero''..based on Nanjing massacre brutal war led by Japanese on China.
Zhang yimou narrates story of'' American'' saving Group of chinese girl students & prostitutes seeking refuge at Church.
Highlight of the film is magical performance by Christine Bale..and of course some extraordinary images from cinematographer -zhao Xio ding.
Movie moves with horrifying images of brutal war with a touch of human drama.
Zhang Yimou should have made this as good as ''Gone with Wind''..marginally fails because of his visual poetry film suffers pain that ''most brutal massacre of Nanjing'' should be.. as in real history.

Film nominated for best foriegn language -Golden Globe Awards.
